Turquoise

The gem was meant to preserve friendship if presented as a gift. It was believed that turquoise could warn its wearer of approaching illness or danger by becoming pale.

Turquoise has a strong historical connection to horses and the rider. Turquoise was thought to prevent the rider from falling, and also protect the horse from thirst and exhaustion, make them sure-footed, and obedient.

Turquoise was also known as turkis and turkeystone. This birthstone was found in Persia along the Sinai Peninsula, and was transported to Europe through the gem markets of Constantinople, Turkey hence the gemstone name.

Turquoise is believed to avoid and heal host of physical and spiritual diseases with view to promoting fellowship, leadership and direct  contact. Turquoise, known as reinforcing stone can relieve

The name of this birthstone in December has very recent etymology and is  derived from its source small region in Tanzania's Merelani Hills. 

Actually, in no other place in the world, tanzanite is found, making this gemstone extremely unique and precious. 

The healing properties of tanzanite

Tanzanite shares many of the healing powers of turquoise, imparted to it by the color blue and its healing qualities. The immune system has been known to strengthen, the blood has been detoxified, and vitality has been increased.
